Outreach is about both recruiting and retaining people, especially women and other underrepresented groups, in Computing (especially as students in computing programs and curricula).

Many groups of people are underrepresented in computing and among student bodies in computing education programs. There are historical reasons for this, but the problems continue into the modern age. Women and people of color, especially, have met resistance to their presence and a lack of resources encouraging their participation. Even for those who attempt to enter the profession, many drop out. Use this tag for questions that relate to both encouraging such people to enter and for ways to retain them once they do.
