Questions related to teaching about command line interfaces (Linux terminal, Windows CMD, bash etc.). Use this tag to ask about teaching the how and why of using command lines.

Command Line interfaces are a means of issuing commands to a computer by successive lines of text (known as command lines or commands).

These commands have a defined structure:

<command name> <option> <parameters>

Different Command Line interfaces have their own list of <command name>s which they use. For example, Linux terminal uses ls to list files and Windows CMD uses dir to list files in a directory.
